FFD achieves Candidate status with CPSE

The Fayetteville Fire/Emergency Management Department has reach another milestone in its quest of becoming an accredited department with the Center for Public Safety Excellence.  The department has been approved to enter the final phase of the process, which consists of a review from our peers.  The peer team, which is made up of personnel from accross the nation, should be assinged within the next week and a site visit is expected to take place by July.  In the nearly three years that the department has been working towards this achievement, the concentrated efforts have allowed this department to develop into one that is worthy of international recognition.  Currently there are 141 departments that are Accredited throughout the world.  The department looks to achieve Accredited status by August 2011.
